Coastal Houses: Pure Geometry and Materiality as a Language

Located on the Alicante coast, in the privileged enclave of Calpe, Casa Costeres emerges as a statement of intent. A detached house whose design seeks purity of form, Mediterranean roots, and perfect natural integration with the surroundings. On a 1,535 m² plot, surrounded by pine trees, rises this 417 m² residence where clean lines and fine materials take center stage.

The project, developed by Pasqual Giner Arquitectura in collaboration with interior designer María José Auñón Cabrera, responds to an essential objective: to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior. The house unfolds serenely and horizontally, generating a visual rhythm of clean volumes and balanced proportions that blend with the topography and surrounding vegetation.

Casa Costeres, a detached house that stands as an architectural manifesto. In it, geometry and materiality converse in perfect harmony, where natural light, noble materials, and simplicity take center stage.

The identity of Casa Costeres is forged in the conscious selection of fine materials and the color palette that defines each space. Local stone reinforces the connection to the Alicante landscape, providing texture and visual weight, while natural oak wood introduces warmth and an organic feel. Glass adds a sense of lightness, blurring physical boundaries and maximizing the entry of natural light.

The home is decorated with a neutral range of whites, beiges and soft grays that intensify the luminosity and create an atmosphere of calm.

This serene background is balanced by metallic details in black and specific pieces in a matte finish, which provide contrast and character without breaking the feeling of unity.

The result is a contained, precise and profoundly elegant chromatic composition, where each texture dialogues with the next in a balance of opacity and brightness, roughness and smoothness.

The heart of the home is structured around a large central space that combines the living room, dining room, and kitchen in an open and functional area. This core extends outwards through floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a direct connection with the terrace and pool.

The furniture, with its clean lines, and the wood finishes reinforce the visual continuity between the different areas, providing warmth and comfort.

In the interplay of spatial integration, water takes center stage. The infinity pool, conceived as a continuous sheet on all four sides, reflects light and multiplies perspectives, amplifying the sensation of infinite horizontality. Every space, from the common areas to the most intimate settings, has been designed to foster communication, well-being, and mindful living.

More than just a house, Casa Costeres is a work of pure architecture where geometry, materiality, and light intertwine in a timeless, sensory experience. It’s a house that is not only inhabited, but lived in, in constant dialogue with its surroundings.
